Pray for Julie Becton, our USS Laffey Association Secretary.  She was operated on Wednesday, April 14th for what she thought was an appendicitis.  Unfortunately there was a tumor on her appendicitis. So the surgeon took out her ovary, fallopian tube, appendix and part of her colon.  She is in the hospital now, starting to take liquids and might go home over the weekend.  We have not gotten the pathology report back, but she most likely will have to start chemotherapy when she recovers from the surgery. 
 
She had her right knee replaced in February and while she was in rehab she started to have a pain in her right side.  She went to the ER once and was sent home.  She should not have been.  So this is where we are.

PLEASE SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS.
 
The pathology report came back and the cancer was non-invasive and the surgeon, (God Bless him), got it all.  No chemo.  She will be out of the hospital on Monday and recovering at home.. 
 
I will make sure that she is at the next reunion wherever it may be.
