Mr. Nordstrom will be at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 9020 South Saginaw Road, Grand Blanc from 11 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 until the time of the service at 1 p.m.

NORDSTROM, Louis D. "Louie" - Of Tawas City, formerly of Grand Blanc, age 84, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Tendercare of Tawas. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 9020 South Saginaw Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan.

The Reverend George L. Cleaves, Jr. officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the USS Laffey DD-724 Association, 100 Landing Lane, Bluffton, SC 29909-6060. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.

Mr. Nordstrom will be at the church from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service. Louis was born in Flint, Michigan on December 20, 1925, the son of Delbert and Evelyn (Wheeler) Nordstrom.
He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1942 and later attended General Motors Institute (now Kettering University).

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the destroyer USS Laffey.  On November 25, 1972 he married Marion Wagner in Flint.  Mr. Nordstrom retired from General Motors, UAW Local 598, in 1988.
Louie enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are wife, Marion; children, Gary and wife Donna Nordstrom of Illinois, Linda and husband Larry Smith of Linden, Bonnie and husband Dan Jones of Flint; step-children, Lori and husband Ed Thomas
of Arizona, Sherry and husband Mike Arndt of Davison; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Dick and wife Yvonne Nordstrom of Clio; sister, Gede and husband Don Bacon of Grand Blanc; special friend, Paul Schneiderhan;
many nieces, nephews, cousin Harry Nordstrom of Gwinn, Michigan. Special thanks to the caring staff at Tendercare of Tawas and Hospice Advantage.
