Reunion
Events
These events are from 2007 Reunion
which was held in Virginia Beach, Virginia
I will update the Patriots Point events at later date when known.
SPIRIT OF NORFOLK HARBOR CRUISE
A two hour luncheon cruise. Feast on sumptuous buffet and enjoy the informative narration as you cruise through the Hampton Roads Harbor. View many fascinating sights along the waterfront, including might aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines at the Norfolk Naval Base, Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin and Old Fort Norfolk. Enjoy dancing following lunch.
RIDING NORFOLK TOUR
Following the cruise, learn about Norfolk’s colorful 320 year history as you ride through the lovely historic district and restored areas. View stately homes along the Hague, old St. Paul’s Church, the Moses Myers House, the Chrysler Museum of Art, the historic Freemason District, Nauticus, the Battleship Wisconsin and restored waterfront area, as well as many other points of interest.
MACARTHUR MEMORIAL
Next, enjoy a visit to the MacArthur memorial. Here you will view the outstanding collection of artifacts, documents, photographs and memorabilia housed in Norfolk’s historic city hall which trace the life and times of five-star General MacArthur. The General and Mrs. MacArthur are entombed in the rotunda of the memorial. Nine separate galleries arranged in two levels circle the rotunda and tell the story of the General and millions of American men and women who served in the US Armed Forces from the Civil War through the Korean War.
RIDING VIRGINIA BEACH TOUR
Before returning to the hotel, enjoy beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay as you ride through Virginia Beach. See historic lighthouses and the First Landing Cross at Cape Henry where the English colonists first came ashore in 1607. Walk out on the overlook to see where the bay and ocean meet, and where the famous Battle of the Capes took place during the Revolutionary War.
Tuesday October 9, 2007, 9:00AM – 3:00PM.
NAVAL STATION TOUR
Tour the Norfolk Naval Base. Your tour will take you past the 14 piers and through the Naval Air Station. You will also drive by the historic homes built for the 1907 Jamestown Exposition on “Admirals’ Row” which now house the flag officers.
MEMORIAL SERVICE ON BASE AT DAVID ADAMS CHAPEL
Our Memorial Service will be held in the base chapel.
LUNCH INCLUDED ON BASE
Lunch will be included for our group on base at one of the clubs.
