Bermuda Cruise Vacation Packages

While best known for its shorts and golf courses, Bermuda has much more to offer. And on a cruise vacation, you have the opportunity to see it all. Explore the underwater world or stroll along the historic streets of St. George. Relax on a pink-sand beach or swim in the sparkling turquoise waters. From sailing to shopping to sunbathing, the only thing you'll want in Bermuda is more time.

Why a cruise?

At several Laffey reunions, the idea of a cruise has been discussed. At Branson last year, the reunion committee agreed to research our options.

The USS Laffey will not be open to tours this year. Because of the uncertain Patriots Point schedule, the reunion committee consulted Association member Michael Dillard, a travel agent expert in cruise planning. With his help, we can offer this opportunity. We hope you will join in!

And we promise: As soon as possible, we will have a Laffey Homecoming that will blow the roof off old Charleston!

Costs*

Royal Caribbean Ships

Cruise ticket. Included: Accommodations, taxes and tip; entertainment, most meals (main dining, buffet dining, room service); and activities including the fitness center, and the Adventure Ocean Youth Program (for children 3-17 years old).

Extra costs: Shore excursions, alcohol and soda (you can buy unlimited soda packages), specialty dining venues, casinos, and shopping.

Travel insurance is optional but recommended. Royal Caribbean International’s Vacation Protection Plan is best for older travelers. Younger travelers do better using Travelex Insurance.

Enchantment of the Seas fun

Bungee trampolines, suspension bridges, Pool Deck, and Splash Deck Boleros, a Latin-themed lounge;
fitness facilities; and Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

Also: Open atrium featuring shopping and more; themed bars and lounges; Casino Royale; rock-climbing wall, Latté-tudes coffee house,
solarium with a sliding roof and indoor/outdoor pool, Adventure Ocean youth facilities, and day spa and fitness center

Virtual tour of the ship.

Laffey fun

Our crew will have a hospitality room. (We cannot bring our own refreshments, so plan for cruise prices for soft drinks and alcohol.) Also, there will be a Laffey cocktail party.

We’ll sit together in the main dining room for meals, so you can share the adventures you have each day. (Not too many adventures, please. We don’t want to have to spring you from the Shore Patrol!)

You can arrange excursions in Bermuda (book in advance or while on board).

And we won’t forget the serious side of our reunion.  A memorial service to mark the 65th anniversary of April 16, 1945, will be held onboard.  We also will mark the passing of other crewmates.

Special needs

Special needs can be accommodated, such as sight, hearing, oxygen, and wheelchair use.
